 Note

This article applies to the following products:

  • Imagine MyPath Math
  • Imagine+ Math Beta

STEM-Focused Application Tasks are rigorous project-based learning opportunities linked to specific lessons in the program. These printable resources are available in the Assignment Builder for grades 3–8 and are aligned to STEM and College and Career Readiness standards. Teachers can use STEM-Focused Application Tasks during whole-group or small-group instruction to foster collaboration, meaningful discourse, and cross-disciplinary connections.

 Note

For Imagine+ Math Beta, a task-agnostic Application Task Implementation Guide is also available, offering practical tips on a two-day implementation model; the Implementation Guide can be accessed from the Resource Center.

Each STEM-Focused Application Task includes:

  • An essential question
  • Background information to activate prior knowledge
  • A rich problem situation grounded in a real-world context
  • Academic vocabulary
  • Opportunities to use multiple problem-solving strategies
  • Multi-disciplinary connections
  • Prompts to explain and justify thinking
  • Extension activities
