After creating an assignment using the Assignment Builder tool, or after editing a draft, Teachers and Administrators can use the Assignment Wizard to assign the assignment to an individual, a group of students, or an entire class.
Use this article to learn how to assign an assignment to students in Imagine MyPath.
To assign an assignment to students:
- When you have finished creating a new assignment or editing a draft, click Assign to proceed to the Assignment Wizard, where you can assign the assignment to students.
- To assign an assignment to all of the students in a class, click Select Full Class.
To assign an assignment to individuals, click the arrow to the left of a class name to expand the class roster and select individual students. You can also use the Search Student bar to find particular students. - Verify that the correct students were added to the Selected Students panel. If needed, click a student's name to remove them or click Remove All to start over. Click Continue to proceed.
- Type in a name for the assignment. This will be the assignment name that your students will see on their My Assignments page. Select a due date, if desired, or select No due date. To assign a due date, choose Select due date and either type in a date or choose a date on the calendar. Click Continue to proceed.
Note
Assignments with a due date remain active for students who have not completed the assignment even after the due date has passed. - Select an assignment icon to serve as a visual identifier for the assignment for developing readers. An icon is required for Grades K-2 but is optional for Grades 3+. After making your selection, click Continue to proceed.
- Verify the information is correct, make any needed changes by clicking the appropriate pencil icon. When ready, click Finish to assign the assignment to the selected student(s) or class.
Note
You cannot add, remove, or rearrange lessons after assigning an assignment to students. You'll need to create a new assignment if you want a different set or sequence of lessons. After the assignment has been assigned, you can edit the assignment name, assignment icon, due date, and selected students. - A confirmation pop-up will appear after clicking Finish, and the assignment will be available to students on their My Assignments page when they next access Imagine MyPath. Once the assignment card appears on your Assignment Dashboard, you will be able to view student assignment data and monitor their progress.
