A draft in Assignment Builder is an assignment that you have created but not yet assigned to any students. While in draft form, you can add, rearrange, or remove content before you assign it to students.
You can make updates to a draft from the Drafts tab on the Assignment Dashboard.
To update an assignment draft:
- Log in to Imagine MyPath.
- Teachers: Click Assignment Builder in the left navigation pane.
Administrators with access to multiple schools: Click Assignment Builder in the left navigation pane, then select the desired school.
- Click the Drafts tab on the Assignment Dashboard.
- Click the name of the assignment you want to edit.
Tip
If you have a lot of drafts, use the filters or search bar at the top of the page to find the one you want.
- The draft opens and displays the previously added lessons or formatives in a panel on the right side of the page.

Action Instructions A. Apply filters to narrow down the list of available lessons (or formatives) if you wish to add more content Click the Filters icon to see the available filters. Click Apply to see the updated list of results. For a refresher on the filters, go to the article about previewing content. B. Use the search bar to narrow down the search results Search for lessons or formatives by entering a title, description, domain, or standard code. C. Add a lesson (or formative) Click the plus button to add the lesson (or formative) to your draft, which will automatically save. D. Edit the assignment name Click the pencil icon, type in a new name, and click Save.
E. Remove a lesson or formative from the assignment Click the trash can icon next to the lesson or formative you no longer need. - When adding a lesson or formative, your selection gets added to the bottom of the current list. You can rearrange the order by dragging and dropping a lesson or formative to another place in the list.
- When ready, click Assign to proceed with assigning the assignment to students.
