This article does not apply to students taking the embedded Imagine Language & Literacy Benchmark or the NWEA™ MAP® Growth Assessment. It only applies to students taking the Imagine Galileo ELA Benchmark in Imagine Language & Literacy (IL&L). If you aren't sure which assessment your school is using, read Checking which assessment option your organization is using.
Administrators can check the testing status of groups or classes in their school or district using the recommended Testing Activity tools. Alternately, Administrators can view class and student testing status as a Teacher by using the recommended Test Monitoring method in the Teachers section.
Teachers can check the testing status of students assigned to begin the Benchmark tests by using the recommended Test Monitoring steps in the Teachers tab.
Note
Students are required to take an Imagine Galileo ELA Benchmark test before logging in to Imagine Language & Literacy for the first time. The data from this test is used to place the student within Imagine Language & Literacy. You can schedule the ELA Benchmark test for your desired testing dates.
To check the testing status of the students assigned to you:
- Log in to Imagine Galileo K-12 Assessment.
- Click Testing Activity. Select All Schools or select a specific school to view the testing activity. Filter by Test Grade and Student Grade, set your preferred Date Range, and choose which Tests to display.
- Click Run Report.
- Log in to Imagine Galileo K-12 Assessment.

Click Dashboard.
- Select Class or Intervention Group.
- Choose a class or intervention group from the dropdown list.
To view Test Monitoring page details:
- Click Test Monitoring in Recent Events.

Click Test Monitoring to view the settings and data of a test.

To narrow summary details more, use the Expand to View Settings dropdown list.
Depending on your selected test, Class or Intervention Group is the default mode. The library, the selected test, and displaying student IDs instead of student names are filled in by default, but can be changed in settings.
Understanding status and test monitoring details:
The Test Monitoring page shows you many indicators and details that provide of the status of a class, group, or student test. When a test is created and assigned settings, such as the Test timer function, it affects the columns and status details shown on the Test Monitoring page. Settings and status indicator definitions are in the Setting and Status table.

Lock/Unlock/ Submit |
Displays general or individual lock/unlock/submit status. General The general lock icon in the header is used to lock/unlock/submit the test for all students. Individual The lock icon's dropdown list next to each student's name locks/unlocks/submits the test for the student. Lock - Lock Prevents an individual student from accessing the test if their test is unsubmitted or incomplete. Unlock - Provides access to a test if a student is locked out by a Teacher or needs to access the test again. Submit - Prevents a student from accessing the test and allows you to submit it for them. Submitting the test starts the student on their learning path in Imagine Language & Literacy. Students are prompted to submit their test when they complete it and exit. |

Name |
Displays student's name. Select Show student ID under Expand to View Settings to display view the IDs of each student rather than their name. |
Checkmark |
The checkmark next to a student's name indicates all items on their test are complete. No checkmark indicates the test is in progress or has not yet started. |
Clock |
Displays the time the student started the test, ended the test, and the total test duration. The duration spans the total time between the first answer on the first day and the last answer on the last day. If it takes more than a day to take the test, the start and end times reflect the specific day and times, respectively. The duration adds the amount of time spent on each day. |
Test Timer |
Tracks and controls a student's test time. To control pause and unpause during a test, use Unpause/Pause all or Pause/Unpause on the Test Monitoring page. The Test Timer runs continuously and counts down to zero while students are engaged in their online test. The countdown continues even if students exit without finishing the test?. |
Earned Points |
Shows the total number of points from the total number of possible points and the associated percentage. |
Letter/Number |
Shows how the student answered a question and the points earned.
Each cell is color-coded to reflect the answer categories. |
Test Item Number |
Hover the cursor over the item number to display that item's metadata, such as standard or DOK. |
Troubleshooting student status issues
Your students can only access their test inside the scheduled testing window that you select.
- Confirm the test is currently scheduled on the Calendar for the student.
- The test must be unlocked. Students cannot access locked or submitted tests.
- Unlock tests on the Test Monitoring page.
