Pausing a student's learning path in Imagine+ Math

Administrators and Teachers can pause a student’s learning path in Imagine+ Math on the Student Placement page. Paused learning paths are hidden from students, but you can still view progress and usage in reports.

To pause a student's learning path:

  1. Log in to the Product Portal and select the MyPath Math / Imagine+ Math tile.
  2. Open the Student Placement page for your role:
    • Teachers: Select a class, then click Student Placement in the upper navigation.

When to pause a student's learning path

You may want to pause a student's learning path when you need to stop student access but still keep the student's learning history visible to educators. Pause a learning path when you want to:

  • Keep a complete picture of the student's progress and activity across both Math Builder and Math Mastery learning paths.
  • Review historical learning path data in educator reports even after that learning path is no longer active.
  • Preserve learning path history when a student moves to a different recommended pathway or when you manually assign a different pathway.

What happens after pausing a learning path?

Pausing a student's learning path has the following effects:

  • Student view: The paused learning path tile no longer appears on the student’s MyPath/Imagine+ Math dashboard, so the student cannot open or work in that learning path.
  • Student Placement: In the Placement Status or Overall Placement column for that learning path, the status shows Paused instead of Active or Deactivated.
  • Class Summary, Class Progress, Usage, and Cumulative Standards Proficiency reports: Progress and usage from the paused learning path continue to appear in reports, so you can still review the student’s history.
  • Student Progress: You can still select the paused learning path and review lesson history, scores, and active time, but you cannot reassign lessons or mark lessons as passed or not passed while the learning path is paused.
  • Deactivated vs. Paused: Deactivated learning paths remain excluded from reports, while paused learning paths stay visible in educator reports with full progress and usage data.

Restoring a paused learning path returns it to Active with no loss of placement, lesson history, or usage data, and the pathway tile appears again on the student’s dashboard.

Accepting recommendations and bulk changes

  • When you accept a pathway recommendation that moves a student from one pathway type to another, the previously active pathway is set to Paused, so you can continue seeing its data in reports.
  • In the Bulk Actions menu for Administrators, Paused is available as a placement status, alongside Restored and Deactivated, so you can update multiple students at once when needed.
