All students begin in the Mastery pathway. You can assign the Builder pathway when assessment results or classroom observations show that a student needs foundational skill development or is ready for enrichment.
To assign the Builder pathway to a student:
- Log in to the Product Portal and select the MyPath Math/Imagine+ Math tile.
- Open the Student Placement page.

Teachers: Select a class on your dashboard and then click Student Placement in the upper navigation ribbon.

Administrators: Click Users in the left navigation panel and then select the Student Placement tile.

Teachers: Select a class on your dashboard and then click Student Placement in the upper navigation ribbon.
- Find the student needing a pathway change, click the three-dot menu next to their name, and select Assign Builder Path.
- Select the student's Placement Grade.

(Optional) Turn on Lock Placement if you do not want future assessment results to change the student's placement. To learn more, see Managing a student's learning path settings.
Note
If you assign a placement grade above the student's rostered grade, you can choose Enable Content Bridge. Content Bridge adds a condensed set of lessons from the student's rostered grade before the student begins above-grade-level content. To learn more, see Managing a student's learning path settings.
- Click Assign.
- A confirmation appears at the bottom of the page that says "Placement assigned."
What happens next
Assigning the Builder pathway does not deactivate the student’s Mastery pathway. If both pathways are active, the next time the student opens Imagine+ Math, they see both the Mastery and Builder tiles.
Tell the student which pathway to open. If the student should work only in the Builder pathway, deactivate their Mastery pathway.
