Best practices for getting started with Imagine Math

Imagine Math personalizes learning and engages students in a meaningful exploration of mathematical understanding. An emphasis on academic discourse empowers learners to apply reasoning and critical thinking skills and sets them up for future successes in school and beyond.

To get the best experience in Imagine Math, we recommend the following best practices:

  • Arrange for dedicated computer time in accordance with the weekly usage recommendations (Imagine Math PreK-2Imagine Math 3+)
  • Acquire headsets for students needing audio assistance
  • Set goals: complete and pass 2-3 lessons per week
  • Establish a consistent schedule or routine
  • Outline usage procedures with students and display them in your classroom
  • Start each session by setting clear expectations. For Imagine Math 3+ students who have more than one pathway, let them know which pathway they should select.
  • Monitor students as they use Imagine Math. During small group work, position yourself so you can see student computers.
  • Regularly consult with students regarding their individual progress in Imagine Math
  • Regularly review student data and provide additional support as needed
