Moving students between classes, teachers, and schools in the Imagine Math suite

 Note

This article applies to Imagine Math and Imagine Math Facts.

If you are a Customer Administrator or District Administrator, you can move students between schools, teachers, and classes. If you are a School Administrator, you can move students between the teachers and classes in your school. If you are a Teacher, you can move students between your own assigned classes; you cannot move students to another teacher's classroom.

Only students who are assigned to a single class can be moved to another class. When you move a student to a different class, any pathways assigned to them in their previous class are also moved to the new class.

If a student is assigned to multiple classes, first remove their student account from their previous class and then add their student account to the new class. When you remove a student from a class, it also removes their assigned pathway(s). If you want to retain the student's pathway from one class to another, contact Imagine Learning Product Support (support@imaginelearning.com) to move the pathway to the new class.

 Note

When you see Managed by SIS next to accounts or classes, it means that your organization uses a Student Information System (SIS) integration tool to manage accounts. To update information for these accounts, contact your IT staff.

Troubleshooting

Click below for the solution to a problem you might encounter when trying to move students.

I get an error when I try to move students.

If you see this error when you try to move students

it means that the student can't be moved because their account is assigned to multiple classes. In order to move the student, you need to first remove them from all but one of their classes.

  • If the student is assigned to multiple classes and is working on a pathway in more than one class, contact Imagine Learning Product Support (support@imaginelearning.com) to move the student to the new class so that they don't lose any of their previous work.
  • If a student is assigned to multiple classes, but is working on a pathway in one of those classes, take these steps to ensure that the pathway is moved to the new class:
    1. Remove the student from all their current classes except for the one where they are assigned to a pathway.
    2. Move the student from their current class to the new class. Moving the student ensures that the pathway assigned to them in their current class is moved to the new class.
  • If the student is being removed from a deactivated class, contact Imagine Learning Product Support (support@imaginelearning.com) for help.
