Manually assigning the Builder Path to a student in Imagine+ Math

All students in Imagine+ Math are initially placed in the Math Mastery pathway, but Teachers and Administrators can manually assign a student to the Math Builder pathway when assessment results, classroom observations, or other instructional needs show that a student needs more targeted support or enrichment.

To manually assign the Builder Path to a student:

  1. Log in to the Product Portal and select the MyPath Math/Imagine+ Math tile.
  2. Open the Student Placement page.
    • Teachers: Select a class and click Student Placement in the upper navigation ribbon.

  5. (Optional) To keep future assessments from changing this placement, turn on Lock Placement. For details on how Lock Placement works, see Managing a student's learning path settings.

  6. (Optional) If the new placement grade is one or more grades above the student’s rostered grade, select Enable Content Bridge to assign a condensed set of lessons from the student's rostered grade before moving to above-grade content. To learn more about this feature, see Managing a student's learning path settings.

  7. Click Assign.

  8. A confirmation appears at the bottom of the page that says "Placement assigned."

 Recommendation

If you want the student to have access to only one pathway, deactivate the other pathway after assigning the new one. This helps reduce confusion and keeps the student focused on the path you want them to use. See Deactivating a student's learning path for step-by-step instructions.

What happens next

If the student’s Math Mastery pathway is still active, the next time the student logs in and opens Imagine+ Math, they will see a Builder tile next to their Mastery tile. Tell the student which tile to open next.
