Administrators can use the Flexible Scheduler in Imagine+ Assessment to create and assign Benchmark, Diagnostic, and EarlyBird Screener assessments. This article walks you through the four-step scheduling workflow: Choose Assessments, Choose Test Windows, Assign Students, and View Summary.
Important
Before you schedule, roster students into classes and give both classes and students access to Imagine+ Assessment in the Product Portal. Only students with class assignments and product access are available to add to schedules.
Step 1: Choose Assessments
-
Log in to the Product Portal and select the Imagine+ Assessment tile.
- Click Scheduling in the left navigation panel.
- Click Schedule Assessment to launch the scheduler.
-
Select an Assessment Type and choose the available options for that assessment. Options vary by Assessment Type, which depends on your organization's product licensing—see the table below. Optional: Add a note for future reference.
Assessment Type Options Benchmark Subject: Math (auto-selected)
Grade: Choose from grades 3–8
Test: Choose one or more from Benchmark 1–4Diagnostic Subject: Math or ELA, depending on product licensing
Test: Choose one or more from Diagnostic 1–4.EarlyBird Screener Subject: ELA (auto-selected)
Test: Choose one or more from Screener BOY, Screener MOY, or Screener EOY.Note
Benchmark assessments are available for Math and Grades 3–8 only. After you select Benchmark as the Assessment Type, a Grade dropdown appears. This grade can also affect which students are available later if you use the Only students in the test grade level filter when assigning students.
- Click Next to proceed.
Step 2: Choose Test Windows
-
Click the calendar icon to set the start and end date for each assessment window.
Click here for recommended Imagine+ EarlyBird Screener windows- Screener BOY (Beginning of Year): October through early November
- Screener MOY (Middle of Year): Late January through February
- Screener EOY (End of Year): Late April through May
For best results, allow at least 45 days between each window to maximize instructional time and observe student growth.
Click here for recommended Imagine+ Diagnostic windows- Diagnostic 1: July 1–October 31
- Diagnostic 2: November 1–March 31
- Diagnostic 3: April 1–June 30
- Diagnostic 4 (Optional): As needed
Choose specific dates within these ranges based on your local instructional needs. Assessment windows can be revised if your schedule changes. For best results, allow at least 45 days between each window to maximize instructional time and observe student growth.
- If needed, click Reset dates to clear your selections.
- Click Next to continue.
Scheduling rules
- Available dates: You can only select dates within the current academic session.
- Non-contiguous windows: Assessment windows do not need to be contiguous, so you can introduce gaps between windows as needed.
- Overlapping windows: Overlapping assessment windows are allowed, but students must complete the assessment with the earliest start date first. Subsequent assessments appear grayed out until the earlier assessment is completed.
Step 3: Assign Students
-
In the Add Students panel on the left, students are grouped within an expandable hierarchy (collapsed by default). Click an arrow (
) to view the next level down. You can drill down to the student level.
Note
Only students who are rostered into classes and given access to Imagine+ Assessment in the Product Portal appear in the student list. If you are scheduling a Benchmark and select the Only students in the test grade level option, only students whose rostered grade matches the Benchmark grade appear in the list. After you create the schedule, this setting cannot be changed.
-
Add students to the schedule in one of these ways:
Label Description A Click the plus sign ( ) next to a group (district, school, or class) to add all students in that group.
B Expand a group and click the plus sign ( ) next to a student's name to add that student.
Note
Students already assigned to the same assessment appear with an asterisk (*).
Caution
If you add students by selecting a group (district, school, or class), newly rostered students can be automatically added while the test window is open or upcoming. If you later edit the student/class list (for example, remove a student or class), the schedule becomes a custom schedule, and you must add newly rostered students manually.
-
Added students appear in the Selected Students panel on the right. To remove students:
Label Description A Click the minus sign ( ) next to a group to remove all students in that group.
B Expand a group and remove individual students as needed.
Note
If all selected students are already assigned to the same assessment, the scheduler prevents a duplicate schedule from being created. Change the student selection or choose a different assessment, then try again.
Step 4: View Summary
-
Review all schedule details on the View Summary page:
Label Description A Assessment Type B Test Windows C Selected Students D Notes - To make changes, click the pencil icon (
) next to a section.
- When the details are correct, click Schedule.
Caution
Exiting before clicking Schedule will discard all unsaved progress. A confirmation prompt will appear if you try to exit the scheduler early.
Managing schedules
- View scheduled assessments on the Scheduling page.
- Students can access assessments only when the test window is open. If windows overlap, students must complete the assessment with the earliest start date first.
- If needed, you can edit assessment schedules.
- Educators can monitor progress and completion from the Scheduling page.
- Newly rostered students are added automatically only for schedules created at the district, school, or class level that have not been edited. If a schedule becomes custom, add newly rostered students manually in Edit Students.
Troubleshooting
- Can't select dates: Ensure dates fall within the academic session and are not in the past.
- Missing students: Confirm that students are rostered into classes, have access to Imagine+ Assessment , and are not already scheduled for the same assessment. For benchmarks, also check whether the Only students in the test grade level option is selected.
