Understanding the practice lessons in Imagine MyPath Math

Math Practice lessons are available in Imagine MyPath's Assignment Builder. While these lessons cover foundational skills typically taught in the primary grades, they can be assigned to students in any grade for remediation and reinforcement. This article provides information about these new lessons, including their purpose, design, and how to use them.

Purpose

The new Practice lessons aim to strengthen students' math skills through fun and interactive activities. These lessons are designed to:

  • Reinforce key math concepts and skills taught in the classroom.
  • Provide extra practice for students who need additional support.
  • Engage young learners with a gamified approach to learning.

Design

These new Practice lessons can be used in various ways:

Administration

Use the Lesson Explorer in the Assignment Builder to find the new Math Practice lessons.

  • To find lessons appropriate for the K–2 grade band, select Math as the Subject and K, 1, or 2 as the Student Grade.
  • To find remedial lessons for older students, select Math as the Subject and a Student Grade from 3–12.

Look for the Lesson Type column. The new lessons are labeled with a blue Practice chip, while existing MyPath lessons are labeled with a green Instruction chip.

You can also use a new Lesson Type filter on the Filters menu. Select Practice and click Apply to view only these lessons in your search results.

The new Practice lessons can be included alongside Instruction lessons when creating assignments.

Reporting

The Assignment Summary report in the Assignment Builder provides data on student performance. This information can be used to monitor student progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
