Viewing students' placement grades for a class in Imagine MyPath

Note

This article applies to the following products:

  • Imagine MyPath
  • Imagine Purpose
  • Imagine Science Corner

Teachers and Administrators can view the placement grades of their students by navigating to the Student Placement page. There, you can find the most recent placement information for each student, including the source of the placement and the date on which the placement was assigned. The overall placement grade, also referred to as the assessed grade, helps MyPath assign the right content to students in their MyPath Math and Reading learning paths.

 Note

This article explains how to view students' overall placement grades at the class level. Administrators can also view overall placements at the district and/or school levels. The Student Placement pages at those levels look mostly the same as the class level, but two additional columns appear on the district and school pages that show each student's NWEA ID or Renaissance ID, when available.

To access the Student Placement page for a class:

  1. Log in to the MyPath suite.
  2. Teachers and School Administrators with access to 1 school: Select a class on your Classes page.
Administrators with access to multiple schools: Select a school on your Schools page, then select a class.
  3. Select Student Placement in the upper navigation to be taken to that page.

Once there, the 3 columns on the right show each student's current placement information, including:
    • Overall Placement: A student's placement grade, or assessed grade, either based on a completed benchmark assessment or the result of a manual placement.
    • Source: The method used to assign each student's overall placement. Refer to the table below for more information on each source, or refer to Assessment and placement options in Imagine MyPath.
    • Placement Date: The date when each student's placement was last updated.

    Source Description
MyPath The student took the MyPath Assessment and was automatically assigned a placement grade upon completion.
NWEA The student took the NWEA MAP Growth Assessment, and their score was imported to MyPath via an integration.
Renaissance The student took the Renaissance Star Assessment, and their score was imported to MyPath via an integration.
Manual An educator manually assigned a placement grade to the student.
System This option is for Imagine Purpose and Science Corner. Students are automatically placed in their rostered grade levels for those products once given access and enrolled in a class.
The student has no placement grade yet.

     Note

If a student was reassigned the MyPath Assessment, a reassignment symbol ( reassignment-icon.png ) will appear next to the student's name, and their previous placement information will be grayed out on the Student Placement page.
