Teachers and Administrators can manually assign a placement grade to a student in Imagine MyPath using the Student Placement page. This action immediately creates a new learning path for the selected student, matching the grade level you choose. Manual assignment is a flexible option for organizations or situations where automated assessments aren’t used or specific instructional needs require a direct placement.
When to manually assign a placement grade
Consider manually assigning a placement grade to a student in these situations:
- Your organizaton does not use a diagnostic or benchmark assessment (such as Imagine+ Diagnostic, NWEA MAP Growth, or Renaissance Star).
- You want to place a student based on results from an external assessment that isn't integrated with Imagine MyPath.
- The student does not currently have a learning path assigned (for example, new enrollments or students without prior placement).
Note
- This article describes how to assign a placement grade to an individual student. Administrators can also bulk-assign placement grades to groups of students.
