Overview of Imagine+ Benchmarks

Imagine+ Benchmarks are fixed-form Math assessments for Grades 3–8 aligned to the Imagine IM scope and sequence. They help educators check student understanding, review standards-based performance, and make instructional decisions during the school year.

Key features

  • Fixed-form assessments: Every student who takes the same benchmark sees the same questions.
  • Standards-aligned content: Benchmarks are aligned to state standards and the Imagine IM scope and sequence.
  • Benchmark series: Administrators can schedule up to four benchmarks (available as Benchmarks 1, 2, 3, and 4) within the academic session. Benchmarks in the same series must be scheduled in order.
  • Grade-level restriction option: When scheduling a benchmark, Administrators can select the Only students in the test grade level option to include only students whose rostered grade matches the benchmark grade. After the schedule is created, this setting cannot be changed.

Administration

  • Scheduling: Administrators use the Scheduling tool in Imagine+ Assessment to set up benchmark windows and assign students.
  • Window rules: Test windows must fall within the academic session, cannot be in the past, and must be at least one day long.

Student experience

  • Access: Students open Imagine+ Assessment from the Product Portal and launch benchmarks from My Assessments. A benchmark appears only when its test window is open. If more than one benchmark window overlaps, students can access only one benchmark in a series at a time, and the later benchmark stays unavailable until the earlier benchmark is completed.
  • Pause and resume: Students can leave a benchmark in progress and return later. The system auto-saves their responses.
  • Completion: When students submit the benchmark, their status changes to Completed and educators can view their results in reports.

For descriptions and screenshots of the student workflow, see Student experience in Imagine+ Benchmarks.

 Note

If a student starts a benchmark but does not submit it, their status stays In Progress, and their results do not appear in benchmark reports until they complete the assessment.

Reports and data

After students complete a benchmark, results are available in the Benchmark Performance Report and the Test Standards & Item Analysis report. These reports help educators review performance, proficiency, standards, and item-level results.

  • Benchmark Performance Report: Shows average percent correct, completion status, proficiency categories, and percent correct across selected assessments in the same series.
  • Test Standards & Item Analysis: Shows class performance, standards to focus on, items to focus on, and detailed item and standards analysis.
  • Exports: Benchmark reports support CSV export, PDF download, and print. Exports reflect the filters you've applied and are limited to data within your role's permissions.
