Accessibility tools in Imagine Language & Literacy: Subtitles

Students in Imagine Language & Literacy (IL&L) can turn on subtitles to make the spoken words in their activities appear in written form at the bottom of their screen. (This feature is also called Closed Captioning, or CC.)

To turn on Subtitles (instructions for students):

  1. From the bottom of any activity, click the accessibility icon (human figure accessibility icon.jpg).
    click accessibility icon ILL.png
  2. In the To See section, click Subtitles.
    click subtitles button accessibility IL&L.png

     Note

The accessibility tools menu will be in English for all IL&L students.

  3. When subtitles are on, a gray checkmark appears at the top of the button. Click the X in the top right corner of the window to save your selection and exit the accessibility tools. Subtitles will appear in all future activities, not just the activity you are currently in.

 Notes

  • To turn subtitles off, click the Subtitles button again so that the checkmark goes away.
  • For now, not all words spoken in the activities have subtitles. The instructions for the activities have subtitles, but the specific examples in the activities do not have subtitles yet. They will be coming in the future.
