Syncing third-party assessment scores with Imagine+ Math

Imagine+ Math can be integrated with select third-party assessment providers to inform pathway recommendations and personalize learning for students. All K–5 students begin in the Math Mastery pathway by default; assessment results do not determine the initial pathway placement but may prompt recommended switches to the Math Builder pathway for remediation or enrichment as needed.

Supported assessment integrations

Assessment integrations are available for:

Licensing or enabling may be required to use these providers with Imagine+ Math.

Integration process

  1. Setup: Contact your Imagine Learning Account Executive or Customer Success Manager to initiate integration with the assessment provider of your choice.
  2. Rostering: Student data, including assessment IDs, must be connected to student profiles within Imagine+ Math to match students' assessment results.
  3. Data retrieval: Once connected, Imagine+ Math imports the most recent assessment results for each student during nightly syncs.
  4. Pathway recommendation and placement review: Assessment data does not determine the initial placement—all students begin in the Math Mastery pathway. However, if results show a student is 2 or more grades below or 1 or more grades above their rostered grade, the system generates a recommendation to switch to the Math Builder pathway for targeted skill development or enrichment. Educators review these recommendations and take action as desired.

Educators retain full control and can apply, dismiss, or override recommendations individually or in bulk, and can assign pathways manually at any time.

Key considerations

  • Data import window: By default, only assessments completed after July 1 of the current school year are imported. Earlier results can be included on request.
  • Sync timing: Imagine+ Math syncs for new assessment data nightly; updated recommendations typically appear within three days.
  • Type of assessment data:
    • NWEA MAP Growth: Domain-specific (for granular pathway customizations)
    • Renaissance Star: Grade-level only
  • Manual placement and updates: Educators can always manually assign or adjust placements, but new assessment data will generate recommendations and prompt suggested pathway changes.
  • Locking placements: Lock a placement to prevent updates to the series or sequence of lessons in a student's learning path due to future assessment results. Recommendations will still appear for educator review and application/dismissal.

Use the Student Placement page in Imagine+ Math to view, assign, or lock placements for your students. From there, you can:

  • See each student’s placement and its source (Manual, Diagnostic, NWEA, etc.)
  • Manually adjust or lock placements to prevent automatic updates from future assessment data
