Active time in Imagine MyPath refers to the amount of time students spend actively engaged with lesson content in the program. It does not include time spent on the MyPath dashboard or other areas outside the content player. Understanding how active time is calculated and tracked can help Teachers and Administrators monitor student usage and progress effectively.
Key points about active time calculation
The program tracks active time continuously while students are in a lesson, including:
- watching instructional videos
- completing practice activities
- taking mastery checks
Active time is calculated the same way for both learning path lessons and teacher-assigned content (via the Assignment Builder). However, active time is reported separately for these two sources of content:
- For learning path lessons:
- Active time data is available in the Class Summary report, Student Progress report, and Usage report
- It does not include time spent on the MyPath assessment
- Students can view their own usage on their My Progress page
- For teacher-assigned lessons and formatives:
- Active time data is only viewable on the Assignment Summary page within the Assignment Builder tool
- It is not included in the main MyPath reports
- Students cannot view their own usage data on teacher-assigned content
Caution
There is an automatic logout after 20 minutes of inactivity in a lesson. The last 20 minutes before auto-logout are counted as active time, so encourage your students to log out when they are done with their work so that their usage time is as accurate as possible.
Tip
Be sure to follow the usage recommendations for Imagine MyPath to maximize the benefits of the program.
