Editing school information in the Imagine Math suite

This article applies to Imagine Math and Imagine Math Facts.

As a Customer Administrator or District Administrator, you can edit the name, time zone, unique identifier, active/inactive status, and academic period end date for any school in your district. If your district has purchased Imagine Math Facts, you can set or change Imagine Math Facts settings that will be applied to all Imagine Math Facts classes in your school.

If you see Managed by SIS in your list of schools, this means your district uses a Student Information System integration tool to manage accounts, classes, and schools within your district. Contact your district's IT staff to find out how to make edits through the SIS. Schools managed by SIS do not have the Edit or Import links.

To edit a school in your district:

District Administrator Customer Administrator
  1. Log in to the Imagine Math suite.
  2. In the Management portion of the left navigation pane, select Schools.

  3. The Schools page opens, defaulted to Active schools. Click Edit by the applicable school.

(Use the Search feature to quickly locate a school, should you have a large number of schools.)

  4. Make your changes and then click Save.

Your edits are saved and you are returned to the Schools page.

This table lists all the editable settings:

    Term/Field Description
Name Displays the current name of the school. To change the school name, highlight the current name and type the new name in its place.
Time zone Displays the time zone where the school is located. To change the time zone, click the down-arrow and select the appropriate time zone from the list.
Unique Identifier If the school has a unique identifier, it is displayed. To change the school's identifier, highlight the current ID and type the new ID in its place.
Active checkbox Indicates whether the school is currently active. To change to inactive, uncheck the checkbox.
Academic Period End Date The end of the current school year.
Operation Ordering checkbox Only visible if you have Imagine Math Facts. Operation Ordering requires students to pass an operation with 90% or greater on the post-test before they can move on to the next operation. It also specifies the order in which students complete different operations. By default, the order of operations is: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

When checked, you can rearrange the operations in the order that you want students in all classes to complete them. To reorder the operations, click the left or right arrow to move an operation one position to the left or right.

When checked, the selected settings are automatically applied as the operation order default for all classes in the school. However, they can later be edited/changed for individual classes or students. Enabling the setting has a "trickle down" effect: If you enable it for the whole school, then it is enabled for all classrooms and all students. If you change it for 1 student or 1 class, your change overrides the previous selection. For example, you can enable it for the whole school and then turn it off for 1 or more classes or students, or set a different order of operations for 1 or more classes or students.

Friendly Mode checkbox Only visible if you have Imagine Math Facts. Specifies whether or not to enable Friendly Mode. When Friendly Mode is enabled, most enemies won't attack the student's avatar if they answer a question incorrectly, and if they do attack, the enemies won't cause any damage.

Friendly mode is enabled or disabled for all classes in the school. However, it can later be edited/changed for individual classes or students. It has a "trickle-down effect" just like Operations Ordering.

Manage Groups Allows you to associate the school with a school group for reporting purposes. School groups are mainly used by larger districts that want to identify smaller groups of schools within their area for report aggregates.
