Overview of the Growth report in Imagine Language & Literacy

 Caution

This report applies only to students who take the Embedded Assessment in Imagine Language & Literacy (IL&L).

The Growth report provides students' overall grade-level placement information as well as detailed information about student performance on both the Embedded Benchmark and, if enabled, the Reading Level Assessment (RLA). Benchmark scores are reported in the areas of Literacy and Oral Vocabulary, while the Reading Level Assessment provides a Lexile measure.

In the student level of the report, data from each area can be seen together in the same view

In the group/class, school, and district levels of the report, student performance in each area will be viewed separately by selecting a tab at the top of the report.

Click on a tab to learn about the color-coding and score ranges in each category of the report.

Literacy Oral Vocabulary Lexile

The color-coding in the report for Literacy data is as follows:

Color Meaning
Red 2 or more grades below
Orange 1 grade below
Mint green On grade level
Dark green Above grade level

The literacy ranges per grade level are shown below. Because the scale ranges only from PreK through Grade 5, students in PreK, for example, can never be classified below grade level, while students in Grade 7 and higher will always be labeled 2 or more grades below. In these cases, you can disregard the color-coded grade-level categorization and instead track only the scores' numeric values as the year progresses.

  PreK K 1 2 3 4 5
Range 58-175 176-550 551-925 926-1400 1401-1915 1916-2150 2151-2317

The Growth report updates within an hour after students complete or work on an assessment. The time and date stamp provides the exact moment of the data refresh:

 Note

The report only updates while your students are actively testing. If there is no new data to report, the "Data last updated" time and date stamp will remain within an hour of the last time any student data changed.

Information is available at the student, group/class, grade, school, and district levels. Teachers and Administrators can view the organizations and/or classes and students under their purview.

     Notes

    • Growth calculations can only appear in the report when at least 2 assessments are selected.
    • For reporting purposes, once students complete Placement tests:
      • Placement tests finished between August 1st and November 30th appear in the BOY test window results.
      • Placements finished between December 1st and March 31st count as the MOY.
      • Placements finished between April 1st and July 31st count as the EOY.

(For example: A student who starts the Placement on November 26th and finishes it on November 27th will have their results display for BOY, while a student who starts on November 26th and finishes on December 2nd will have their results appear for MOY.)
