Using the text-to-speech and language translation tools in Imagine+ Math

Imagine+ Math empowers students with language tools that make learning accessible in their preferred language. This article explains how to use the text-to-speech (TTS, headphone icon) and language translation (globe icon) tools in Imagine+ Math.

Note

Language tools are available for most lesson content, but not inside math videos. Assessments support Spanish translation only.

Enabling language tools for students

  1. Enable language settings for each student: Language translation and TTS must be activated individually by educators or administrators in the Product Portal. For step-by-step instructions, see how to edit student accounts and settings.
  2. Once enabled, students see the following icons in the left side panel of their Imagine+ Math lessons:
    A. Headphone: Activates text-to-speech (TTS)
    B. Globe: Opens the language translation menu

Recommendation

Review all students’ language settings at the start of each term and when new students join your class.

How to use text-to-speech (TTS)

To have text read aloud to you in your chosen language:

  1. Highlight the onscreen text you want read aloud. If you do not highlight a section first, TTS will read from the top of the page.
