Syncing third-party assessment scores with Imagine MyPath

Imagine MyPath can be integrated with select third-party assessments to assign student placements and personalize learning paths. This article provides an overview of the integration process and key considerations for both products.

Assessment integrations are available for the following third-party assessments:

• NWEA MAP Growth
• Renaissance Star

Integration process

1. Setup: Contact your Imagine Learning Account Executive or Customer Success Manager to initiate the integration process.
2. Rostering: Integration requires matching student roster data and assessment IDs to their profiles within Imagine MyPath or Imagine+ Math.
3. Data retrieval: The system will automatically import each student’s most recent assessment results after the connection is established.
4. Placement and learning path creation: Students are placed based on their assessment results—NWEA MAP Growth provides domain-specific placements; Renaissance Star provides grade-level placements. The program then generates an individualized learning path aligned to each student's assessed proficiency.

Key considerations

• Data retrieval window: By default, only assessments taken after July 1 of the current school year are imported. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you need to include earlier results.
• Sync timing: The system checks nightly for new assessment results; placements are typically updated within three days of a new sync.
• Assessment data types: NWEA MAP Growth provides domain-level placement, while Renaissance Star offers overall grade-level placement.
• Manual placement and updates: Manual placement is useful for getting students started early. However, unless the placement is locked, new assessment data will automatically update the placement if results have changed—or, for NWEA, if domain data is newly available, even if the grade level does not change.
• Locking placements: Lock a student's placement if you want to prevent changes by future assessment data. See managing a student's learning path settings for details.

Use the Student Placement page in Imagine MyPath to view, assign, or lock placements for your students. From there, you can:

• See each student’s placement and its source (Manual, Diagnostic, NWEA, etc.)
• Identify students who need a placement and assign one as needed
• Manually adjust or lock placements to prevent automatic updates from future assessment data
