User roles and permissions in Imagine+ Assessment

Imagine+ Assessment® provides varying levels of access and functionality based on user roles to ensure secure and efficient administration. This article explains permissions for District Administrators (DAs), School Administrators (SAs), and Teachers, covering schedule management and data access.

Role Overview

Role Access Level
District Administrator (DA) Full district-wide access to all features, schedules, and data
School Administrator (SA) School-level access; limited ability to modify DA-created schedules
Teacher View-only access for assigned classes; cannot create or modify schedules for Imagine+ Diagnostic or Screener

Key Permissions

District Administrators (DAs)

  • Scheduling: Create, edit, or delete assessments for any school, class, or student district-wide
  • Editing: Modify start & end dates, assigned students, or notes for any schedule (DA- or SA-created)
  • Deleting: Remove "Upcoming" schedules across the district
  • Reporting: View data for all assessment types district-wide

School Administrators (SAs)

  • Scheduling: Create, edit, or delete assessments for any class or student at their school(s)
  • Editing: Modify start & end dates, assigned students, or notes for any schedule at their school(s) (DA- or SA-created)
  • Deleting: Remove "Upcoming" schedules at their school(s) (DA- or SA-created)
  • Reporting: View data for all assessment types school-wide

 Note

When SAs edit DA-created schedules, they generate new school-specific schedules under their name. Students at the SA's school are added to the new schedule and removed from the original DA-created schedule. The new schedule appears as a separate assessment on the schedule list.

Teachers

  • View-only access: Can view schedules and reports for assigned classes and students but cannot create/edit/delete assessments

Editing Restrictions

These restrictions apply to managing assessments:

  • "In Progress" Assessments: Only end dates can be modified
  • "Upcoming" Assessments: Editable start & end dates and student lists

 Important

Students who started testing cannot be removed from "In Progress" assessments.
