Imagine+ Formatives are short, prebuilt assessments for Grades K–8 in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. Teachers can use them to quickly check student understanding of specific skills and standards, review results right away, and decide what to teach next.

- Large formative library: Includes 600+ ELA formatives and 300+ Math formatives for Grades K–8.
- Skill-focused assessments: Each formative checks one skill or a small set of related skills, with 3–7 items that usually take 5–10 minutes to complete.

Administration
From the Formatives dashboard, Teachers and Administrators can search for formatives by subject, grade, standard, or keyword. You can also:
- Preview formatives and aligned standards before assigning them.
- Create assignments made up of one or more formatives.
- Edit drafts of assignments before assigning them to students.
- Assign the formatives to individuals, groups, or classes.
- Edit, close, or delete active assignments.
- View performance data for active and closed assignments.
Note
Administrators must be assigned to a class to assign formatives to students. To add a class to an educator account, see Viewing, editing, and deleting educator accounts.
Student experience
- Grades K–2: Students see audio-supported directions and a simplified interface.
- Grades 3–8: Students use a streamlined interface with clear progress indicators.
- Language support: Built-in translation tools support students who need help reading directions or content.
- Digital item types: Formatives include familiar online question types such as drag-and-drop and multiple-choice.
Reports and data
Results from formative assessments appear in the Assignment Summary report.
- Class and group results: View completion status, average scores, and student counts by proficiency category.
- Student-level details: Review each student's completion status, time spent, score, and item-level results.
- Standards-based results: See performance by standard to help guide instruction.
- Supporting skill data: Review supporting skills that are not standard-aligned but still support the target concept.
