Analyzing the Imagine Español Benchmark Growth report at the school and district levels

School and District Administrators: After reading the Overview of the Imagine Español Benchmark Growth report and accessing the report on your device, use this article to help you interpret your students' results.

To analyze the school-level or district-level IE Growth report:

  1. In the drop-down menus at the top of the report:

    School Administrators: Select a school if you have more than 1 school. Do not select a group and/or student. Click Apply Changes if you change the default.

    District Administrators: Leave the report at the district level (i.e., do not select a school, group, and/or student).

  2. Verify or select the applicable assessment(s) from the Test Windows filter; click Apply Changes if you select something other than the default.

  3. Interpret your results in the Overall Performance section at the top of the report.

    The horizontal bar shows the percentage of students who performed in each proficiency level for each assessment in the Test Windows filter. Hover over a section of the graph to see the student count.

  4. Interpret your results in the status box.

    The current or most recently closed testing window will display by default; click on a different testing window, if available, to see a previous result.

    This portion of the report displays the percentage of students with a test status of:

    • Completed
    • Not Started
    • Expired (started, but not submitted within 28 calendar days)
    • In Progress
    • Not eligible (due to students' rostered grade level)


    Download this portion of the report, if desired, using the download icon and selecting Download student statuses. This is available at the school level, but not at the district level. Data will be available for all testing windows in the Test Windows filter in the top left corner of the report.

  5. Interpret your results in the Detailed Performance section at the bottom of the report. 
    First, choose to view the report by Grade or by School/Group by clicking on the applicable tab. The following tabs will be available depending on the level at which you are analyzing the data.

    The columns in this portion of the report are:

    • Grade, School, or Group (depending on the tab selected): An alphabetical list of schools or groups or a numeric list of grade levels. 
    • Students Tested: The number of students who completed the assessment compared to the number of eligible rostered students in that school, grade, or group.
    • % Assessed:  The percentage of eligible rostered students who completed the assessment.
    • Test Window: If you're viewing multiple test window, this column indicates which assessment corresponds with each row in the table. (This column does not display if you're viewing data for a single test window.)
    • Columns for each proficiency level—Minimally Proficient, Partially Proficient, Proficient, and Advanced—with the percentage of students in each category. 

     Note

    When you're analyzing multiple testing windows, a row displays for each window. You can use the arrow to close this view so that only the most recent assessment displays.

  6. If desired, click into a school name or a group name to analyze the report at a group or student level.
