Student experience in Imagine+ Benchmarks

Students in Grades 3–8 can complete assigned Imagine+ Benchmarks in Imagine+ Assessment. In the first year, the student experience is the same across this grade band and is similar to the Grades 3–12 formative experience.

Completing benchmarks for students in Grades 3–8:

1. Log in to the Product Portal and select the Imagine+ Assessment tile. If Imagine+ Assessment is the only product on the dashboard, it opens automatically.
   
2. On the My Assessments page, students see their assigned assessments. They click Start or Go to open the benchmark. If more than one benchmark in a series has been assigned during the same open window, students can open only one benchmark at a time. 
   
3. On the welcome screen, students see this message: “Let’s see what you know! It’s time for you to take your test. Read each question and think carefully. Remember to do your best.” They can click the Play button to hear the message read aloud.
   
4. Students click Start to begin the benchmark, or Go Back to return to My Assessments.
   
5. As students answer questions, they click Next to move forward. They can also use the page controls at the bottom of the page to move to another question.
   

6. Students can use these tools and features to help them as they answer questions:

   Tool	Instructions
   Highlighter	Use the Highlighter to mark important text in the question or passage.
   Read Aloud	Click the headphones to open the Read Aloud menu. Click Play to hear all text on the page, or highlight text first to hear only the selected text. Students can choose Slow, Normal, or Fast playback speed.
   Language	Click the globe to open the Language menu. Select a language to translate the on-screen text. If supported, students can use Read Aloud to hear the translated text.
   Remove Answer Choice	Click the X, then click an answer choice to cross it out. Click the X again to turn the tool off before selecting an answer.
   Pin Question	Click Pin Question to mark a question and come back to it later. To remove the pin, return to that question and click the button again.
   Resources	Click Resources in the upper right to open a side panel and take notes. Dictionary and Translation in the Resources panel are not available during benchmarks.

7. Students can click Save & Exit to pause and return later.
   
8. After answering all questions, students click Submit.
   
9. A confirmation pop-up tells students whether they answered all questions and reminds them that they cannot go back and change answers after they submit. Students can click Play to hear the message read aloud, click Go Back to return to the test, or click Submit to finish.
   
10. After they submit the benchmark, students return to their My Assessments page.
