How to enable language supports
To turn on language supports for a student:
- In the Product Portal, turn on Text-to-Speech, Language Translation, or the Spanish setting for the student. For steps, see Edit student accounts and settings.
- After you turn on these settings, students see the Text-to-Speech (headphone icon) and Language Translation (globe icon) tools in the left panel of their lessons.
Note
In Grades K–5 Builder, some problems include an audio button that reads the question aloud automatically. This support does not require educator enablement. Text-to-Speech and Language Translation still require enablement in the Product Portal.

Best practices for educators
- Turn on Text-to-Speech and Language Translation for multilingual students to support access and vocabulary development.
- Turn on the Spanish setting for Spanish-dominant students in Grades K–8 who are in dual-language or bilingual programs.
- Model Read Aloud and Translation early in the year, especially for younger students in Grades K–2.
- For Grades 3–8, use downloadable worksheets and STEM-Focused Application Tasks, which are available in English and Spanish, for offline support.
If students do not see language tools
Confirm that Text-to-Speech, Language Translation, or the Spanish setting is turned on in the student's Product Portal profile. For help, see Edit student accounts and settings . If the settings are turned on and tools still do not appear, contact Imagine Learning Product Support .
