The student-level Cumulative Standards Proficiency report helps Teachers and Administrators:
- Track individual student mastery of standards
- Identify specific standards needing additional support
- Access standard-specific resources for targeted instruction
- Monitor lesson completion and performance
Teachers and Administrators: After reading the Overview article and accessing the class-level Cumulative Standards Proficiency report on your device, click a student's name in the Data Table to access the student-level report.
Then use this article to help you analyze student-level data in the Cumulative Standards Proficiency report.
Note
The screenshots in this article show domains and standards from Common Core State Standards, but the domains and standards that appear in your report will be specific to your state's educational standards.
To analyze the student-level Cumulative Standards Proficiency report:

Use the filters to customize the displayed data:
A. Toggle between students using the Students drop-down menu
B. Toggle between Math and Reading using the Subjects drop-down menu
C. Adjust View Standards by Grade to analyze performance on different grade-level standards—the default is the lowest grade-level standard that appears in the selected student's learning path - Review the Standards Performance charts (top) to quickly assess the student's performance on the selected grade-level standards:
A. Overall Performance (left) provides a distribution of assessed standards by proficiency level
B. Standards to Focus On (center) identifies areas needing additional support
C. Standards to Celebrate (right) highlights areas of achievement

Overall Performance:
- Each bar represents the number of standards at that proficiency level
- Standards Assessed (beneath the chart) is the ratio of standards that the student has worked on out of the total number of standards in the student's learning path

Standards to Focus On:
- Shows standards where the student has Emerging (0-39%) or Developing (40-59%) proficiency, arranged from lowest to highest average score
- Each bar is color-coded to indicate the student's proficiency level and is labeled with the student's average score for that standard

Standards to Celebrate:
- Shows standards where the student is Approaching proficiency (60-79%) or Proficient (80-100%), arranged from highest to lowest average score

Refer to the key in the upper right corner of the report to understand the colors and symbols. -
Overall Performance:
- The Standard Performance by Domain section (bottom) presents domain- and standard-level performance data for each standard in the student's learning path:
- Scan domain headers for average scores and proficiency indicators.
- Click an arrow within a domain header to collapse or expand that section.
- Every domain's section is expanded by default to show all standard-level details, including:
A. Descriptions of each standard, sorted by standard code by default
B. Average scores on items from mastery checks that assessed each standard
C. Ratio of completed to assigned lessons that assess each standard
D. Color-coded proficiency and completion status indicator
Tip
Click Collapse Domains to get a quick overview of all domains and then expand any domains needing immediate attention to analyze the student's performance on those standards. - Click an arrow within a column to sort standards by code, score, lesson completion ratio, or proficiency level.
- Click a file icon to access offline resources for a particular standard that can be used during reteaching sessions.
In the window that opens, click a resource name. Teacher versions are labeled with "Teacher Version," and many resources have Spanish versions available. - Click an arrow to the right of a file icon to view lesson-level details for a particular standard.
The lesson-specific data includes the student's total time spent working on the lesson (Active Time), the date when the student last worked on the lesson (Date Modified), and the score earned on the most recently completed mastery check in the lesson (Mastery Score).
Click View Complete Student Progress to be taken to the Student Progress report. - Search for a specific standard using a standard code or keyword.
- Scan domain headers for average scores and proficiency indicators.

Make note of the standards the student is struggling with and create custom assignments using the Assignment Builder.

The Cumulative Standards Proficiency report provides detailed information about a student's mastery of individual standards, and lessons sometimes align to multiple standards. This means that some items on a mastery check may assess only one standard, while others might assess multiple. For example, consider a student who completed the lesson Place Value Concepts up to 1,000,000,000. That lesson aligns to two Grade 4 standards, M.4.2.B. and M.4.2.C., so it is listed as a lesson for both of those standards on the student's Cumulative Standards Proficiency report.
For M.4.2.B., the student's mastery score is reported as 40%, but for M.4.2.C., the student's mastery score is 50%. That is because the lesson's mastery check did not assess each standard equally.
To investigate, click View Complete Student Progress to be taken to the Student Progress report, and then locate the lesson. You find that the score for the lesson is 40%.
Clicking on the lesson name takes you to the Lesson Details page, where you can view the mastery check and the student's responses to each item.
Nothing indicates which standard the questions assess, and it is even possible for an item to assess a supporting skill instead of a particular standard. However, using your own subject matter expertise, you determine that all of the items on the mastery check align to M.4.2.B., while only questions 1 and 5 align to M.4.2.C. Overall, the student earned a 40% on the mastery check, which matches what was shown for M.4.2.B on the Cumulative Standards Proficiency report. Since the student got question 1 correct and question 5 incorrect, which are the items on the mastery check that assess M.4.2.C., that explains why the student's mastery score was 50% for M.4.2.C on the Cumulative Standards Proficiency report.
Being able to identify the specific standards that students are struggling to master is why this report is so valuable, and when a lesson covers multiple standards, this report makes it possible to pinpoint a particular standard that a student may be struggling with more than another. In the above example, the student performed similarly on both standards, but there may be times when there is a more significant difference. Depending on the situation, your possible next steps include facilitating a reteaching session with the student, reassigning the lesson, and/or creating an assignment for the student to complete outside of their learning path.
