To analyze the school-level Cumulative Standards Proficiency report:

  1. Use the filters to customize the displayed data.
    A. Select a Subject (Math or Reading)

     Note

The number to the right of the report title is the number of students in the school, not necessarily the number of students in the report. Only students in the selected rostered grade who have been assessed on items mapped to relevant standards at the selected grade level will display in the report.

  2. Review the Overall Performance bar chart (top left) to see a distribution of assessed standards, categorized into different proficiency levels.
    • Each bar represents the number of standards at that proficiency level
    • Total standards assessed at the selected grade level are displayed at the bottom
    • A list of low-performing classes or grades may appear depending on what view you have selected

  3. The Domain Performance section (top right) provides data for domain-level analysis:
    • Average scores for each domain are shown
    • Student distribution across proficiency levels is shown in horizontal bars with the number of students in each proficiency level displayed within each bar
    • Domains are arranged from lowest to highest performing

     Note

The screenshots in this article show domains and standards from Common Core State Standards, but the domains and standards that appear in your report will be specific to your state's educational standards.

  4. The Data Table (bottom) presents domain- and standard-level performance data for each class or grade level, allowing you to compare individual class averages to the school average and analyze performance patterns across domains/standards.

    • On the Class view, the School Average is shown in the top row for easy comparisons between class and school-wide performance. Look for patterns in domain performance across classes or grade levels. For example, several classes in this school appear to be struggling in the Number and Operations domain (second column).

    • On the Grade view, the Class Average is shown along the top. Here, "class" refers to students in the same grade level, and the Class Average refers to the average score across grade levels. The Class Average on the Grade view may be different than the School Average on the Class view if there are mixed-grade classes at the school.
