Uploading your Imagine Robotify assisted rostering files

 Note

The steps in this article apply only if you have selected the Assisted rostering option.

To start the assisted rostering process, you will populate 2 rostering templates — one with data for educators and another with data for students. You will then upload these roster files to Imagine Learning using the secure form at the bottom of this page.

Completing the Educator Import Template

The Educator Import template is used for District Administrators, School Administrators, and Teachers. Associate only Teachers to a class.

  1. Download the Educator import template
  2. Complete the fields on the template using these instructions:

     Note

    In the Field column, fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. Fields without an asterisk are available to be imported but are not required.

    Field Description
    Class Name* (required only for teachers)

    The name of the primary classroom to which you want to assign the teacher. Leave this field blank for District Administrators and School Administrators.

     Note

    Teachers can be associated with more than one class, but each class needs its own row in the template.

    Class Grade* 

    The class grade level. Only one grade can be associated with each class. 

    First Name* 

    The educator's first name.

    Last Name* 

    The educator's last name.

    Email* 

    The email address of the educator. The email address must contain all lowercase letters in this format: username@domain (for example, joe.davis@yourschool.edu).

    Username* 
    The username must be the email address or a very unique format, such as first.last.educatorid, as usernames must be unique system-wide.
    Password* 

    The password the educator uses to log in to Imagine Robotify. Passwords must contain at least eight characters.

    School Name*

    The full name of the school to assign the educator. The school name must be unique within your district.

    User Type* 
    There are three user types for the Educator import template: District Admin, School Admin, and Teacher:
    • Administrator: Allows you to create and manage organizations and groups, as well as manage all student and staff accounts. If you are an Administrator, you can change your role at any time.
    • Teacher: Teachers can see only the groups and student accounts that are assigned to them. They do not have permissions to create or manage organizations or other staff accounts.
  3. Save the file using this naming convention: [State] - [District or School Name] - Educator - Robotify.

     Example

    Texas - Bandera Independent School District - Educator - Robotify 

  4. Do one of the following:
    If Then
    You are uploading both educator and student roster templates Continue to the Completing the Student Import Template section in this article.
    You are uploading only an educator template Continue to the Uploading Roster Files section in this article.

Completing the Student Import Template

The Student import template is used for students.  

  1. Download the Student import template
  2. Complete the fields on the template using these instructions:

     Note

    All of the fields in the table below are required.

    Students can also be assigned manually to a classroom.

    Field Description
    Class Name* 

    The name of the primary classroom to which you want to assign the student.

     Note

    Students can be associated with more than one class, but each class needs its own row in the template.

    Class Grade* 

    The class grade level. Only one grade can be associated with each class. 

    First Name* 

    The student's first name.

    Last Name* 

    The student's last name.

    Email* 

    The student's email address. The email address must contain all lowercase letters in this format: username@domain (for example, joe.davis@yourschool.edu).

    Username* 

    The username must be the email address or a very unique format, such as first.last.studentid, as usernames must be unique system-wide.

    Password*

  3. Save the file using this naming convention: [State] - [School Name] - Student - Robotify.

Uploading Roster Files

 Note

In the Field column, fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. 

Complete the fields in the form below as follows, then press the Continue to File Uploader button:

Field Description
Name*

Enter your name.

Email* Enter your email address.
Job Title

Enter your job title.

State* Select your state.
District* Enter the district.
School(s)* Enter the name of your school. If there is more than one school, separate the names with commas.
Product*

Select Imagine Robotify.
