Navigating subjects
The landing page will display subjects based on the number of subjects in which a student is enrolled. The available options may include Math, Reading, Purpose, and Science.
Math and Reading
Schools and districts have the flexibility to enable either the Math assessment, the Reading assessment, or both. When these assessments are enabled at the beginning of each assessment window, students will be prompted with the assessment as soon as they select Go or Let's Go! for the respective subject.
Once a student completes a MyPath assessment, they can proceed to work on their learning path. By clicking Go or Let's Go! for the specific subject, they will be directed to the course map, which outlines the lessons included in their learning path. Clicking Go will launch the next lesson in the sequence. To gain a better understanding of the student's learning path experience, you can explore the overview and observe how it adapts to the student's progress.
Purpose
Purpose content is based on the student’s enrollment grade. Upon clicking Go or Let's Go! a student begins the content. To learn more about the Purpose content, view the welcome page.
Science
Imagine Science Corner (ISC) includes an intentional non-adaptive sequence of lessons by grade (K-5), which may be delivered in any order utilizing the assignment builder. Imagine Science Corner enhances and deepens students’ understanding of grade-level science concepts by providing additional exposure to the content covered in core science curricula.
Gamification
MyPath K-12 program reinforces positive self-concept for students while they earn rewards for making progress. Students are awarded stars for completing activities and receive a bonus for passing lessons. Students are never penalized for failing a mastery check or lesson.
The approach of earning stars and levels, as well as unlocking rewards, is applicable to students in Grades K-8. For students in Grades 9-12, the concept of stars and levels does not exist, and all customization options are already unlocked by default. However, students across all grades can still earn stars to unlock backgrounds and avatars, allowing them to personalize their learning experience.
In the example above, the student currently at Level 3 requires only 10 points to acquire another sidekick. To gain insights into the learning experiences that motivate students, refer to Understanding the Gamification.
