As your students begin the Reading Level Assessment (RLA), you can check their testing status. Administrators can check the student status of any student in their school or district. Teachers can only check the status of students who are assigned to them.
To check a student's Reading Level Assessment status
- Log in to Imagine Language & Literacy.
- Click the Growth widget or click Growth in the Dashboard drop-down menu.
- Click Reading Level Assessment in the navigation bar. Click the Grade Level, or Class that you want to review test results for. Choose the Testing Period that you want to review results for (for example, click the Beginning-of-Year testing period).
-
Select the class that you want to view the test statuses for.
If a student has successfully completed the Reading Level Assessment, you'll see a Lexile score listed for that testing period. You'll also see the start and completion date for that testing period, as well as the amount of time the student took to complete the Reading Level Assessment. If a student has not completed the Reading Level Assessment, check the Reading Level Assessment status table to see the testing status of each of your students.
Status Description Eligible Students The number of students who are eligible to take the Reading Level Assessment. Students are eligible to take the Reading Level Assessment if:
- They are in Grade 2 or above
- They are reading at an upper grade 1 through grade 6 level
- They have completed or placed above Beginning Book 48 as part of the Imagine Language & Literacy program.
If you have enabled both the Benchmark Test and the Reading Level Assessment for your organization, students will receive the Reading Level Assessment after they complete the Placement Test or the Beginning-of-Year Benchmark Test (if all other RLA eligibility requirements have been met).

In Progress The number of students that started, but have not yet finished, the Reading Level Assessment for the testing period that you chose.
