Checking student completion status for the Reading Level Assessment (RLA) in Imagine Language & Literacy

 Caution

This article only applies to organizations who have chosen the default embedded Benchmarks as their placement/assessment method in Imagine Language & Literacy and who have enabled the Reading Level Assessment for their students. This article does not apply to students taking the Galileo ELA Benchmark or the NWEA™ MAP® Growth Assessment.

As your students take the Imagine Language & Literacy Reading Level Assessment (RLA), you can check their testing completion status from the educator portal. Teachers can check the status for students who are assigned to them. School Administrators can check the status for any group or student in their school, and District Administrators can view the entire district. For anyone with more than one group, you can view a roll-up summary before drilling down into the group-level report.

To view students' RLA completion status:

Click on the applicable tab to learn how to check student testing status.

  4. Click the Reading Level Assessment tab at the top of the page. Make sure the Grade and Testing Period filters show the desired data. (The default testing period is set to the Beginning of Year.) For Teachers and School Administrators, test status is displayed by Grade at the top of the screen, followed by Group at the bottom.

     Note

District Administrators will have a slightly different screen layout—one section for Grade at the top and another for Organization (school) at the bottom. You can click on a school name to drill down into the groups (classes) at the school.

The number of students in each status displays in the applicable column:

    Column Description
    Eligible Students

The number of students who are eligible to take the Reading Level Assessment in the time period you selected. Students are eligible to take the Reading Level Assessment if:

    • The RLA is enabled for their district or school
      -- AND --
    • Students are in Grade 2 or above
      -- AND --
    • They are reading at an upper grade 1 level or higher, as demonstrated by having completed or placed above Beginning Book 48 in the Imagine Language & Literacy curriculum.

If your school or district has enabled both the Benchmark test and the Reading Level Assessment for your organization, eligible students receive the Reading Level Assessment after they complete the Benchmark test (or Placement test, for brand-new Imagine Language & Literacy users).

Completed The number of students that finished the Reading Level Assessment in the testing period you selected.
In Progress The number of students that started, but have not yet finished, the Reading Level Assessment in the selected testing period. Once a student begins the RLA, they have 28 days to complete it, even if they begin the test on the last day of the testing window.
Not Started The number of students that are eligible to take the Reading Level Assessment in the testing period you chose, but have not yet started it.
    Expired

The number of students that started the Reading Level Assessment in the testing period you chose but did not finish it within 28 days. Expired RLAs can not be reassigned.

  5. Optional: Click on a grade level or group name to view more detailed information for each student in the group.
