Enabling/disabling audio support in Imagine Reading and Imagine Lectura

Audio support gives students the option to have specific passages or questions read aloud to them when they click the speaker icon ( Reading_Lectura_speaker_icon.png ) in the lessons. For Imagine Reading, the audio support is read in English. For Imagine Lectura, the audio is read in Spanish. It does not translate from one language to another.

Audio support is enabled by default and can be disabled/reenabled by Administrators and TeachersAdministrators can enable or disable audio support for any student in their organization. Teachers can enable or disable audio support for any student in their assigned groups.

Audio support can be edited for individual students and in bulk. Click on the applicable tab below to get started.

Individual Edits Bulk Edits

To edit audio support for an individual student:

  1. Log in to Imagine Reading or Imagine Lectura
  2. Click Manage Students under the Manage heading. (Depending on your role and product, you may have to select a group first before arriving at the page with the Manage section.)

    The screen shot above is from Imagine Reading. Imagine Lectura's Manage Students button is in a similar location on the right side of the page. 

  3. If needed, perform a search or navigate through the pages to find the applicable student.
  4. Click the pencil icon of the student whose audio support you want to edit.
  5. Choose Yes from the Audio Support drop-down list to enable audio support or No to disable it, then click Save.
  6. A confirmation appears at the top of the page and closes automatically.
