To start the simplified assisted rostering process, you will populate 2 rostering templates per school — one with data for educators and another with data for students. You will then upload these roster files to Imagine Learning using the secure form at the bottom of this page.
Completing the Educator Import Template
The Educator Import template is used for School Administrators and Teachers. Associate only Teachers to a class.
- Download the Educator simplified import template.
- Complete the fields on the template using these instructions:

In the Field column, required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
Field Description account_type* The account type determines which features an educator can use and to which student data they'll have access. Enter one of the following terms exactly as shown below:
- Admin
- Teacher
Note
With this file type, Admins will become School Administrators for the associated school. If you need to enter a District Administrator, use the Traditional rostering template instead.
first_name* Enter the educator's first name.
last_name* Enter the educator's last name.
educator_email* Specify the educator's email address. The email address is the educator's username that they will use to log in to the Imagine Learning Literacy or Imagine MyPath portal.
classroom_name* Specify the name of the classroom to which the educator should be assigned. All classroom names must be unique within your school and district.
Caution
The value in the classroom_name field in your Educator roster file must match the value in the classroom_name field in your Student roster file.
Note
This field is not needed for School Administrators. They will automatically be granted access to all classrooms.
school_name* Specify the full name of the school to which the educator should be assigned. This school name must be unique within your district.

The value in the classroom_name field in your Educator roster file must match the value in the classroom_name field in your Student roster file.

Completing the Student Import Template
The Student import template is used for students.
- Download the Student simplified import template.
- Complete the fields on the template using these instructions:

Field Description student_state_id Enter the student's unique state ID.
Note
Imagine Learning does not require this field, but your state might.
district_student_id* Specify the student's unique, district-assigned student ID.
first_name* Enter the student's first name.
last_name* Enter the student's last name.
grade_level* Specify the student's grade level. Enter one of the following: PK, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12.
username* Enter the unique username that the student will use to log in to the Imagine Learning Literacy or Imagine Mypath portal.
Note
The student's username must be unique within your district.
password* Enter the password (at least 4 characters long) that the student will use to log in to the Imagine Learning Literacy or Imagine MyPath portal.
Note
If you leave this field blank, Imagine Learning will automatically generate a password for this student.
language* The student's native language.
demographic Indicate whether the student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or is an English Language Learner (ELL) by typing "IEP" or "ELL". If both, separate them with a semi-colon.
classroom_name* Specify the name of the classroom to which the student should be assigned. All classroom names must be unique within your school and district.

school_name* Specify the full name of the school to which the student should be assigned. This school name must be unique within your district.

Language & Literacy* Indicate whether or not to give this student access to Imagine Language & Literacy or Imagine MyPath. Choose Yes or No.

Español* Indicate whether or not to give this student access to Imagine Español. Choose Yes or No.

Reading* Indicate whether or not to give this student access to Imagine Reading. Enter Yes or No.

Lectura* Indicate whether or not to give this student access to Imagine Lectura. Enter Yes or No.

Galileo* Indicate whether or not to give this student access to Imagine Galileo K-12. Enter Yes or No.
