Exporting student data from Imagine Language & Literacy (Full CSV Export)

Administrators can export student data for your their organization(s) as a CSV-formatted file. When you export student data, your export file includes the student number, name, grade level, district, and school; first and most recent session dates; total usage YTD since August 1; and the Reading Level Assessment and Benchmark Test data for all testing periods. (For more details about each column in the export file, see What data is included in the export file.) The date range for any export file is always August 1-July 31, regardless of your school year start and end dates. 

Depending on the size of your organization(s) and the amount of student data you have, your export file may take a few hours or a few days to generate. Once your export file has been generated, you’ll receive an email with a link to download the export file. The notification email will be sent to the email address associated with the Imagine Language & Literacy account you are logged in as.

To export report data

  1. Log in to Imagine Language & Literacy
  2. Click Full CSV Export.

  3. Verify that the email address is correct. If it is not, update the email address for the Imagine Language & Literacy account that you are logged in as or log in as a different user.

  4. Click Export. After your export file has been generated, you'll receive an email with a link to download the export file.

What data is included in the export file

When you export student data for your organization(s), these columns are included in the export file:

Column Name Description
Student Number

A district or school-defined number that identifies this student in Imagine Language & Literacy. 

If the column is empty it is because the student was created manually through the Imagine Language & Literacy portal. 

Alternate Student Number

A secondary student identification number in Imagine Language & Literacy (optional).

 Note

This field is optional. If the Alternate Student Number has not been entered in Imagine Language & Literacy, this column will be empty in the export file.

Username The student's username in Imagine Language & Literacy.
First Name The student's first name in Imagine Language & Literacy.
Last Name The student's last name in Imagine Language & Literacy.
District Name

The school district that the student is assigned to. 

 

School Name(s) The school that the student is assigned to. If a student is assigned to multiple schools, each school name is listed in the column, separated by semi-colons.
Grade Level The student's assigned grade level in Imagine Language & Literacy. 
Teacher Name(s) The teacher(s) that the student is assigned to. If a student is assigned to multiple teachers, each teacher's name is listed in the column, separated by semi-colons.
Grade Level The student's assigned grade level in Imagine Language & Literacy.
Demographic Any demographic data tags that have been defined by the district or school.
Product Name The Imagine Learning product(s) that the student has used during this school year: ILE (Imagine Language & Literacy)
First Session Date The date of the student's first session during this school year. If this column is empty, the student has not yet used Imagine Language & Literacy during this school year. You can sort by this column to eliminate any students who have not used Imagine Language & Literacy. 
Last Session Date The date of the student's most recent session during this school year. If this column is empty, the student has not yet used Imagine Language & Literacy during this school year. 
Total Usage YTD (minutes) The total amount of time (in minutes) that the student has been logged into Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
RLA 1 Date Completed (Beginning)

The date the student completed the Beginning-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). The Beginning-of-Year test period runs from August 1-October 31. If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 1 Score (Beginning)

The student's score for the Beginning-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 1 Minutes (Beginning)

The amount of time (in minutes) that the student spent on the Beginning-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 2 Date Completed (Middle)

The date the student completed the Middle-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). The Middle-of-Year test period runs from December 1-February 28. If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 2 Score (Middle)

The student's score for the Middle-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 2 Minutes (Middle)

The amount of time (in minutes) that the student spent on the Middle-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 3 Date Completed (End)

The date the student completed the End-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). The End-of-Year test period runs from April 1-June 30. If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 3 Score (End)

The student's score for the End-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
RLA 3 Minutes (End)

The amount of time (in minutes) that the student spent on the End-of-Year Reading Level Assessment (RLA). If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The RLA has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not be eligible to take the RLA. Students are eligible to take the RLA if they are in Grade 2 or above and they have completed or tested out of the Beginning Books curriculum (through Book 48).
  • The student may not have completed the RLA. Check the Reading Level Assessment Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
BMK 1 Date Completed (Benchmark Beginning)

The date the student completed the Beginning-of-Year Benchmark Test. If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The Benchmark Test has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not have completed the Benchmark Test. Check the Benchmark Test Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
BMK 1 Literacy Score (Benchmark Beginning) The student's Literacy score for the Beginning-of-Year Benchmark Test. The Literacy score is made up of scores from the Print Concepts, Word Recognition, Beginning Reading Comprehension, and Level Reading Comprehension sub-tests.
BMK 1 Oral Vocabulary Score (Benchmark Beginning) The student's Oral Vocabulary score for the Beginning-of-Year Benchmark Test. The Oral Vocabulary score is made up of scores from Basic Oral Vocabulary, Beginning Academic Oral Vocabulary, Intermediate/Advanced Academic Oral Vocabulary, and Cloze Passage Comprehension Literacy sub-tests. 
BMK 2 Date Completed (Benchmark Middle)

The date the student completed the Middle-of-Year Benchmark Test. If this column is empty, it may be because:

  • The Benchmark Test has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not have completed the Benchmark Test. Check the Benchmark Test Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
BMK 2 Literacy Score (Benchmark Middle) The student's Literacy score for the Middle-of-Year Benchmark Test. The Literacy score is made up of scores from the Print Concepts, Word Recognition, Beginning Reading Comprehension, and Level Reading Comprehension sub-tests.
BMK 2 Oral Vocabulary Score (Benchmark Middle) The student's Oral Vocabulary score for the Middle-of-Year Benchmark Test. The Oral Vocabulary score is made up of scores from Basic Oral Vocabulary, Beginning Academic Oral Vocabulary, Intermediate/Advanced Academic Oral Vocabulary, and Cloze Passage Comprehension Literacy sub-tests.
BMK 3 Date Completed (Benchmark End)

The date the student completed the End-of-Year Benchmark Test. If this field is empty, it may be because:

  • The Benchmark Test has not been enabled for this student's organization.
  • The student may not have completed the Benchmark Test. Check the Benchmark Test Status report to verify that the student completed the test.
BMK 3 Literacy Score (Benchmark End) The student's Literacy score for the End-of-Year Benchmark Test. The Literacy score is made up of scores from the Print Concepts, Word Recognition, Beginning Reading Comprehension, and Level Reading Comprehension sub-tests.
BMK 3 Oral Vocabulary Score (Benchmark End) The student's Oral Vocabulary score on the End-of-Year Benchmark Test. The Oral Vocabulary score is made up of scores from Basic Oral Vocabulary, Beginning Academic Oral Vocabulary, Intermediate/Advanced Academic Oral Vocabulary, and Cloze Passage Comprehension Literacy sub-tests.
RIT 1 Score (Benchmark Beginning)

The student's score for the Beginning-of-Year Reading NWEA Assessment. If this column is empty, it may be blank because:

  • Your district does not use NWEA as an assessment provider.
  • The student may not have completed the NWEA assessment.
RIT 2 Score (Benchmark Middle)

The student's score for the Middle-of-Year Reading NWEA Assessment. If this column is empty, it may be blank because:

  • Your district does not use NWEA as an assessment provider.
  • The student may not have completed the NWEA assessment.
RIT 3 Score (Benchmark End)

The student's score for the End-of-Year Reading NWEA Assessment score. If this column is empty, it may be blank because:

  • Your district does not use NWEA as an assessment provider.
  • The student may not have completed the NWEA assessment.
DL 1 Score (Benchmark Beginning)

The student's score for the Beginning-of-Year Reading Galileo Assessment. If this column is empty, it may be blank because:

  • Your district does not use Galileo as an assessment provider.
  • The student may not have completed the Galileo assessment.
DL 2 Score (Benchmark Middle)

The student's score for the Middle-of-Year Reading Galileo Assessment score. If this column is empty, it may be blank because:

  • Your district does not use Galileo as an assessment provider.
  • The student may not have completed the Galileo assessment.
DL 3 Score (Benchmark End)

The student's score for the Middle-of-Year Reading Galileo Assessment score. If this column is empty, it may be blank because:

  • Your district does not use Galileo as an assessment provider.
  • The student may not have completed the Galileo assessment.
Lessons Passed YTD The total number of lessons that the student has passed in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1. 
Literacy Lessons Passed YTD The total number of literacy lessons that the student has passed in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
Language Lessons Passed YTD The total number of language lessons that the student has passed in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
Grammar Lessons Passed YTD The total number of grammar lessons that the student has passed in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
Lessons Attempted YTD The total number of lessons that the student has attempted in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
Literacy Lessons Attempted YTD The total number of literacy lessons that the student has attempted in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
Language Lessons Attempted YTD The total number of language lessons that the student has attempted in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
Grammar Lessons Attempted YTD The total number of grammar lessons that the student has attempted in Imagine Language & Literacy since August 1.
MM/DD/YYYY Weekly Usage (Minutes)

The amount of time (in minutes) that the student logged into Imagine Language & Literacy during a week. The dates listed are start dates of every week in the report date range.
