Inviting educators (Administrators)

Only District Administrators and School Administrators have the ability to invite school administrators and other staff. 

This article explains how District Administrators and School Administrators can invite School Administrators and Teachers (in this article, "teacher" encompasses all roles equivalent to an educator), to setup their account in Imagine Math by entering a personal password, which initiates their first login. When the invitations are received, the educators can then accept the invitations

There are two invitation methods; Single invite, which is used to invite one school administrator or teacher at a time, and Bulk invite, which allows for multiple teachers to be invited at once.  When you invite a single educator (school administrator or teacher), Imagine Math automatically creates an account for them in the school that you choose. When inviting multiple Teachers using the Bulk Invite method, in addition to an account being created for each, they are also automatically assigned to the class that you enter for them in the bulk entry.  

If your district is managed by SIS (Student Information System) you can use the first method Single invite method to invite school administrators. 

Before you begin:

  • You have the correct email address for each invitee.
  • Make sure you are not reusing an invitee's email address, as once an email address is used, it can not be reused in the application. If you need to send an additional invite to the same invitee, you'll have to use a different email address for them.

Invite a single school administrator or teacher

To invite one school administrator or teacher

These steps can also be used to invite a School Administrator in a Managed SIS district; a district managed by a Student Information System (SIS) integration tool.

  1. From your dashboard locate Quick Links and click Invite Educators, as shown in the following image.

    Alternately, you can click Management > Educators to open the list of school administrators and educators in your district, then click Invite Educators.

  2. Enter the First name, Last name and Email Address for the invitee.

  3. Select the invitee's Educator Role.
    This is equivalent to their position in the school (Administrator or Teacher).
  4. Select the School you're inviting them to.
    As a School Administrator, this automatically defaults to your school.
  5. Click Send Invite.

    A completion page opens.

    From this page, you can select to send another invitation, view the Educators page or select  something else from the navigation pane.

Invite multiple teachers (Bulk invite)

To invite several teachers at once

  1. From your dashboard locate Quick Links and click Invite Educators, as shown in the following image.

    Alternatively, you can click Management > Educators to open the list of school administrators and educators in your district, then click Invite Educators.

    The Invite Educators page opens.

  2. Click Manually Bulk Invite Teachers, to open the bulk invite page.

  3. Select the School you're inviting educators to.
    As a School Administrator, this automatically defaults to your school. 
  4. Enter the information for each educator (teacher), one educator per line, separated by a comma and space. Each line must include their first name, last name, email address and class, in that exact order.
    Example:
         Peter, Green, pgreen@lbjacademy.edu, Algebra 2
         Robert, Woods, rwoods@lbjacademy.edu, Geometry Basics
         Samuel, Jennings, sjennings@lbjacademy.edu, Common Core Basics
         Catlin, Maning, cmanning@lbjacademy.edu, Basic Math
  5. When finished, click Preview Import to view what the import will look like, and to ensure that the correct information lines up under each column.

  6. Click Import Teachers.

    When the import completes, you are returned to the Invite Educators page in which a banner displays at the top regarding the success of the import. If any teacher was not imported, that will be reported instead, along with the reason the import was not accepted. 

  7. To verify that the educators were added, click Management > Educators in the navigation pane and then search or scroll to view the educators you just added.
