ESSA Position Statement
The purpose of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is to elevate educational standards and accountability across the nation. Under the law, educational technology is considered evidence-based if it is supported by at least one research study that meets the methodological requirements of a Strong, Moderate, or Promising study design and demonstrates significant, positive student outcomes.
The Department of Education has recommended that educational agencies consider adopting programs that meet any of the three levels of evidence as they are the most likely to produce positive student outcomes.
