Both Imagine Language & Literacy and Imagine Español support your classroom implementation of the Science of Reading's 5 big ideas:
- Phonological Awareness
- Phonics
- Fluency
- Vocabulary
- Comprehension
These 5 areas contribute to the strands of the "Reading Rope" (Scarborough, 2001) and interweave to support a student's overall reading proficiency. From Imagine Language & Literacy's and Imagine Español's conception, teaching these various skills simultaneously and in context has been the foundation of their pedagogy.
For more information about the Reading Rope, refer to the Skilled Readers flyer for Imagine Language & Literacy or Imagine Español.
Then use the Lesson Explorer in Imagine Language & Literacy or Imagine Español to preview the digital activities listed on the last page(s) of the flyer.

To preview activities corresponding to the Skilled Reading strand in Imagine Language & Literacy, go to Teacher Resources > Lesson Explorer > Leveled Books and select a grade level and a book.
For example, below is the list of activities in the Grade 3 version of the book Museums. The first four activities—Word Chop, Fix it Up, Word-A-Tron, and Find the Word—teach vocabulary specific to the book that students are about to read. The subsequent reading comprehension activities ensure that students have ample opportunities to listen to the story, read it on their own, and demonstrate they've understood it.
