The steps in this article apply only if you have selected the Assisted rostering option.
To start the assisted rostering process, you will populate three rostering templates — one with data for educators, one with data for students, and another with data for classes. You will then upload those roster files to Imagine Learning using the secure form on this page.
Tips
Once the steps below are completed, your Imagine MyPath contact will send your login files securely through Box. To ensure security, a Box account is required to retrieve the login files. If you'd like to get a head start on creating your Box account, sign up here.
Completing the Educator Import Template
The Educator Import Template is used for District Administrators, School Administrators, and Teachers.
- Download the Educator Import Template.
- Complete the fields on the template using these instructions:

Field Description Educator Type* Educator's role. Case insensitive text of School Administrator or Teacher.
Note
If you leave this field blank, all users will be added as teachers.
External ID Identifier for the educator in an external application, such as an SIS. A unique identifier for the educator from the district, usually a state ID or SIS ID.
This field has a maximum character limit of 250.
Username* We recommend using the educator's work email address as the user name. This is the name the educator will use to log in to the application.
This field has a maximum character limit of 50.
Note
If you leave this field blank, a user name will be automatically generated.
SchoolID* Enter the school name.
For District Administrators, this school name is used to initially create the account; District Administrators will be able to navigate among all schools in the district. To associate an educator with multiple schools within the district, separate the School IDs with semicolons.
Last Name* Enter the educator's last name. First Name* Enter the educator's first name. Middle Enter the educator's middle name (optional). Email* Enter the educator's email address. Case-sensitive characters must be properly formatted and unique in the MPNG system in order to reset passwords.
This field has a maximum character limit of 100.

Completing the Student Import Template
The Student Import Template is used to import students.

Field Description External ID Identifier for the student in an external application, such as an SIS.
Any format. Must be unique for the login code domain (typically the district). This field has a maximum character limit of 250.
Username* Username to log in to the MyPath K12 Student application. We recommend using the student's school email address as the username.
This field has a maximum character limit of 50.

SchoolID* Enter the school name. Students can only be associated with one
school.Grade Level* Provide the student's grade level. One allowed value of K,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,Adult. Last Name* Enter the student's last name. First Name* Enter the student's first name. Middle Enter the student's middle name (optional). Password* Password to log in to the MyPath K12 Student application.
Case-sensitive characters, a minimum of any six characters, a maximum character limit of 100. No spaces. Allowed special characters are !@$^* and .(period).

Gender Provide the student's gender using one of the following options:
- Male
- Female
- Nonbinary
- Does not apply
DOB Enter the student's date of birth in MM/DD/YYYY format. Ethnicity Provide the student's ethnicity, using the following letters:
- American Indian or Alaska Native: I
- Asian: A
- Black or African American: B
- Hispanic: H
- Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: P
- White: W
- Unknown: U
- Other: O
Address1 Enter the student's street address. Address2 Enter additional information for the street address, such as an apartment number. City Enter the student's city. State Enter the student's state. Zip Enter the student's ZIP code. Home Phone Enter the student's home phone number.
This field has a maximum character limit of 20.
Alternate Phone Enter an alternate phone number, if applicable.
This field has a maximum character limit of 20.
Email Enter the student's email address.
This field has a maximum character limit of 100.
Note
If students do not have an email address added to their account, they will not be able to reset their own password. However, district staff can reset the student's password.
Start Date Enter the start date of the student's profile in MM/DD/YYYY format. Notes Enter any applicable internal notes about the student. Parent Email Enter the parent's email address.
This field has a maximum character limit of 100.
Parent First Name Enter the parent's first name. Parent Last Name Enter the parent's last name. NWEA ID Identifier for the student who has taken NWEA assessments.
NWEA integration must be activated for the district/school by an internal WNE user. If activated, the value must be unique for the district. If not activated, the value is stored but not displayed for students.
Renaissance ID Identifier for the student who has taken Renaissance assessments.
Renaissance integration must be activated for the district/school by an internal WNE user. If activated, the value must be unique for the district. If not activated, the value is stored but not displayed for students.
IEP Identifies the student on an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Case-insensitive text of Unknown, Yes, No. If left blank, this field defaults to Unknown.
ELL Identifies the student as an English Language Learner (ELL).
Case-insensitive text of Unknown, Yes, No. If left blank, this field defaults to Unknown.
Math Placement If not using an assessment provider, enter a Math Placement Grade that is used to determine the Math content of the learning path for the student.
Allowed values are K,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12.
Reading Placement If not using an Assessment provider, you can enter a Reading Placement Grade that is used to determine the Reading content of the
learning path for the student.Allowed values are K,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12.
Math Text to Speech Allows student access to the text-to-speech read-aloud tool for Math content. Case-insensitive text of True, False. If left blank, this field defaults to False (OFF).
Reading Text to

Completing the Classes Import Template
The Classes Import Template is used to import classes with a max of 100 students. If you have classes larger than 100 students, break them into two separate classes in your file.

Field Description School ID* The School ID in the Educator application is the same ID labeled Institution ID in the organization's Settings tab. Classes can only be associated with one school.
Class Name* Name for the class. It is recommended that each class have a unique name for easy reporting. A good idea is to add the teacher's last name to the class name, such as First Grade Math – Rogers.
Case-sensitive characters, a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 255.
Teacher Username* Username of the teacher for the class, for an active Teacher
(no School Admins). To associate multiple teachers to an individual
class, separate the teacher usernames with semicolons. The first teacher username is designated as the “primary” teacher.Subject* Subject (Math, Reading, Purpose, or Science) for the class.
This field is not case-sensitive. To assign multiple subjects, separate values with a semicolon.
Student Username* Username of the student. To add multiple students to the class, separate each username with a semicolon, with no spaces between the semicolons. Maximum of 100 students per class. -
